I have used this gang invite tactic quite a bit. Lame or not it just makes too much isk to ignore for something which is not an exploit. I am what I am.
I whole heartedly agree it should default to 'no'. It's more fun when you go to a level 4 mission system and talk folk into ganging with you anyway - people rarely check all the text when they are expecting an invite.
One thing I do notice though is that when I first started using it quite some ago it was only the minority who complained they had just been typing and pressed enter. Now about 95% claim that
It's also a lot less profitable than it originally was too because more people know about it. Presumably a lot of people are just avoiding pressing the enter key in space. Otherwise knowing about it wouldn't have dropped its profitability if it was all people hitting enter by mistake.

Set CSPA service charge to something ludicrous. That works for gang invites doesnt it?
Hmm...I might actually go to Jita and spam local with "OMFG, just bought 120million units of Zyd, lol, plz dont shoot meh!!11!!one" with some stupidly high CSPA charge to see if anyone falls for it.
It applies to anyone going through hi sec really. Engaging bs in a solid 1v1 can be fun and sometimes when I've done it I've lost too . Haulers are the main targets people go for (for obvious reasons) but BS drop nice things too.
Maximum CSPA charge is 100,000 isk. Which at worst is only a mild annoyance, i doubt many bother about it.

The GM's dont like you doing it to noob's I hear and quite rightly so. Anyone who kills noobs is just plain & simple griefing with no other aim. I often wondered if anyone would get caught out by an alt though, guess I know now.
Sorry about your ban. I always checked the 'show info' before inviting anyone and only went for targets 3 month old plus, any mistakes to this where refunded in full and then some. Popped/ransomed hundreds of ships of all classes without so much as a bad word from GM's. Though some nasty RL threats .

Originally by: Aelena Thraant I aways thought you could not shoot someone that was in the same gang, however if they shot you then you could shoot back...
So... Corp A - At war with Corp B Corp B - Only at war with Corp A Corp C - Not at war with anyone...
Ganker D in Corp A Ganker E in Corp C
Victom F in Corp B
Can Ganker E shoot Victom F if Victom F didn't fire at Ganker D or E?
I think i see what your getting at but you seem to have over complicated matters so I could be wrong....
Ganker A & Ganker A's alt.
Ganker A's alt invites victim 1 into gang with them. Sometimes they will sweet talk them first. Victim 1 joins gang. Ganker A can now shoot victim 1 freely. Victim 1 has become a valid war target to Ganker A by joining gang.
Once the first aggresive action is done to victim 1 by Ganker A then the 15 min PvP timer between the 2 pilots kicks in. No matter what victim 1 does (including leaving gang or logging), ganker A can shoot him for 15 mins. Victim 1 is a legal war target - no concord, no kill rights.
Don't do this so much anymore, too well known now but it was very successful for around 6-8 month. Blind inviting & sweet talking people to do missions with my alt. Solo aggro'ing multiple bs in a mission is fun . Sometimes i got pwned but it was a blast, I was lucky to get as long out of it as I did.
